Every year we go to my grandparents’ house for the Fourth of July. We had it on Saturday this year. :) It was a day filled with food, friends, and fireworks. :)

I figured since I’ve been spending most of my time doing ballet this week, I should carry it over to my blog. :)

I collect lots of ballet stuff… hee hee. From pointe shoes (this picture is missing one new pair that I’ve recently added).....

..... to flat shoes.... (ha. after 6 years, i finally branched out and decided to use the Bloch brand.. i’ve really enjoyed them!)

.....to costumes. :) I still have every single costume that I’ve worn in recitals! (except for in this picture.. someone is borrowing one of them. ha)

Last week’s Corner View was “Typical Architecture.”
Down in the south pretty much every old house has a fireplace. This one is my grandparents’. (Ours is currently dirty. Would not make a pretty picture.)

This week’s Corner View is “Spring”.
I’ll do what I’m sure everyone else will do: new growth. :)

Corner View – “Front Door”

Let’s face it. My mom is more creative than I in these meme sort of things. So I enjoy trying to think of something different than she would.

After seeing her taking pictures of our front door, I thought that that would have been a good idea. But, alas, I was too late.  :P

 

So, I decided to carry on my theme from last week. A tribute to my grandparents’ house.

In the winter, I admit, the door seems rather bleak. But if you imagine the bushes beside it in full bloom and a brightly colored American flag in the flag holder, you can see it’s very beautiful. Or at least in the eyes of this beholder. :)
 

I have many memories sitting on the front steps. My sister and I singing

“Yellow car,
yellow car,
thank you, God,
for yellow car”

for every single car that passed. Memories of my dad and I counting all the red cars, or all the blue cars. I can barely hear the peals of laughter as the girl cousins hang on the railings pretending to escape the “flood”.

It’s times like these that you realize that it’s not the house that’s wonderful. But the wonderful people that filled it. <3

Corner View - “Miniature Worlds”

Min-i-a-ture (adj) greatly reduced in size
Worlds (n) a realm or domain

I had some trouble thinking of this one. I couldn’t decide what kind of “miniature world” to choose. We are surrounded by so many. In the end, though, I went with the “realm” of my pet gerbils, Sugar and Plum.

 

Sugar, I hate to break it to you, but your redneck water bottle is not a springboard to escape from your cage.. :P

Corner View - “Coffee companion”

First off, coffee is definitely not my favorite drink. The smell is divine, but the taste is disappointingly bitter. Oh well, I’ll just have to make do with the delicious scent. :)

My “coffee companions” and I meet every Thursday at a local coffee shop.

This photo does not do our after school Bible study group justice, considering that three people are missing from the picture, but you get the point.

Our youth minister usually leads our group discussions (one of the seniors led it this past week, though) and we talk about a variety of things.

With the lovely aroma of coffee floating through our nostrils and the word of God being fed into our minds, you couldn’t ask for a better afternoon.
