Randomness

We’re sitting here in the car on the way to our second hotel of the trip. Here’s a SUPER long update. With lots of pictures. Bewarned. ha. :)

Before we left, I, Jenna, mowed the lawn for the first time in my life. Needless to say I was pretty proud of myself. Not too bad for a first time. ha.

Day one of the trip was VERY eventful. Riding on the plane with my sister (her first time in probably over 10 years) was very interesting. She survived though. :P

We had some WONDERFUL views out the window. Rode through a thunderstorm and through a rainbow. Pretty spectacular. :) The clouds were awesome. (that is my favorite part of flying, though.. all the wonderful clouds! ha)

BUT the most exciting part of our flight was definitely one of the people who was on our flight… BRITT NICOLE! :D I recognized her instantly but waited until after the flight to speak with her and get a picture. She was so sweet and totally awesome. :)

Our two-hour drive from the Pheonix airport to our little hotel in Payton, was absolutely stunning. Needless to say I’ve already taken 400 pictures of the scenery.. ha. and I have barely been here for 24 hours! :P

Our first hotel room was cute and cozy. Morgan and I watched “The Road to El Dorado” before bed. It was a very.. interesting movie. I wouldn’t recommend it. ha.

We got up this morning at 6:00 (8:00 our time) and drove to the petrified forest. (well, first we took a short detour at jail.. hee hee. a closed down jail, actually.)

Mom wasn’t too thrilled with the petrified forest, (hee hee, inside joke) but I thought it was pretty neat. :) Took a few hundred pictures of it and the painted desert. SO pretty. :D

After staring at beautiful rocks and clouds, and of course a delicious lunch, we headed to a meteor crater. It poured rain for about an hour, but it cleared and we were able to go out and look at the crater.. totally awesome. 1 mile across and 600 feet deep.. certainly doesn’t look that wide and deep! :P

And that leads to now. Driving in the car on the way to Flagstaff. The Grand Canyon is tomorrow morning, can’t wait!

The temperature is about 70* with a slight breeze. It feels WONDERFUL. We’ve seen a HUMONGOUS water fountain (sorry, no picture) and lots and lots of trains. :)

I’ll make an online album after our trip is over so yall can see ALL of my pictures. ha. (well, not all since I’ve already taken over 500 pictures.. just on day two. ha)
