1. Grimalkin
(n.)
Definition — a cat, especially an old female cat.
Usage — “This grimalkin has a very ugly look. Is it a cat watching for a mouse?”

(adj.)
Definition — assumed to be such, supposed.
Usage — “Constantine had purportedly bequeathed that part of the empire to the bishop of Rome.”

3. Bequeathed
(v.)
Definition — to leave or give (personal property) by will.
Usage — “Constantine had purportedly bequeathed that part of the empire to the bishop of Rome.”

4. Posthumous
(adj.)
Definition —  published after the writer's death.
Usage — “...the mode of his final departure might give him a larger and longer posthumous vogue than ordinarily attends the memory of a distinguished man.”

5. Barouche
(n.)
Definition — a four-wheeled carriage with a collapsible top, two double seats inside opposite each other, and a box seat outside in front for the driver.
Usage — “A dark-green barouche had now drawn up in front of the ruinous portal of the old mansion house.”
