Friday’s Fave Five

Friday's Fave Five - fall It’s been raining here a good part of this week, so I thought that rain would be an appropriate Friday’s Fave Five… It’ll make me look for the good in rain. :)

1. It gives life
Well, it doesn’t necessarily give life, God does that, but it does nourish the plants and help them grow!

rain gage 2. It fills up our rain gauge
Although I can’t figure out if it is “gage” or “gauge”, rain fills it up. We have had lots of problems with keeping the rain gauge from falling down (the ducks like to fly right by it and knock it off it’s holder on our deck), with a bit of help from parachute cord, we’ve managed to keep it tightly secured for every big rainstorm.

rain on windows 3. It makes a sweet lullaby
There is nothing as sweet as going to sleep under the sound of rain. How many times have you been in an old building and heard the rain pattering on the tin roof. Pretty neat sounding, huh? Well, I definitely sleep better when rain is pouring down... it’s almost mesmerizing! (I cannot take credit for this picture, I found it on Google, but it captures the beauty of rain so well, I think.)

4. It makes a good read-a-book day
When it rains all day long, we all have to agree that it definitely is kind of damping on the soul. But, if you make sure you have plenty of hot chocolate and a good book, it can make almost a perfect day!

5. It fills up lakes and streams
This is probably one of my favorite things about the rain. It fills up our brook and makes the mini waterfall, nice and roar-y. :)
